At its core, a green screen studio is a space where creators shoot footage in front of a large green backdrop. This green colour is then replaced in post-production with any background of the creator's choosing, thanks to the process of chroma keying.

Called a virtual production stage, it's a type of facility that has been dubbed the next big thing in film and TV. The new one at Docklands is the largest in the world. Imagine a wall of LED screens three storeys high, as long as a soccer field.

Green screen technology allows filmmakers to insert actors into any location they desire, both real and computer-generated, without ever leaving the studio.
